Employees rely on experience, memory, or verbal instructions instead of one clear process.
Operations • SOPs • Workflow Improvement
Practical systems for growing service businesses.
I help small service businesses document critical procedures, eliminate workflow confusion, and build systems employees can follow without constant owner involvement.
Based in San Diego County. Virtual support available throughout California and nationwide.
Where operations start to break
Growth exposes weak systems.
When a business grows faster than its processes, owners and managers end up carrying too much operational knowledge themselves.
Important details are scattered across texts, inboxes, spreadsheets, and individual employees.
Routine questions and exceptions keep flowing back to the same person for decisions.
New employees learn through shadowing and repeated questions because procedures are not documented.
Missing documentation, incomplete handoffs, or unclear ownership creates rework and delays.
Processes changed, but the documentation did not—or nobody knows where the current version lives.
Simple, fixed-scope services

Sample work
Summit Service Plumbing
This demonstration case study shows how a growing service business can identify workflow breakdowns, clarify ownership, improve information handoffs, and translate an inconsistent process into practical SOPs and operational controls.
Demonstration project: Summit Service Plumbing is a fictional company created to demonstrate the type of operational analysis and documentation Aldridge Operational Consulting can provide.

Operational experience translated for small business.
I’m Chris Aldridge, an operations professional with more than 14 years of experience improving workflows, documenting procedures, coordinating cross-functional projects, and building systems that support consistent execution.
In previous operational excellence work, I managed more than 100 process-improvement initiatives and supported the redesign of operating procedures, process libraries, training materials, and workflow controls.
I founded Aldridge Operational Consulting to make practical operational support accessible to smaller businesses that need stronger systems but are not ready to add a full-time operations leader.
How it works
A straightforward process.
Introduction
We discuss your business, the workflow, and the problem you are trying to solve.
Discovery
I review how the work is currently performed and where breakdowns or unclear ownership occur.
Development
I create the agreed-upon process documents, recommendations, checklists, or tracking tools.
Implementation
We review the deliverables, make agreed revisions, and identify any next priorities.
Start a conversation
Have a workflow that is harder than it should be?
Start with a short introductory conversation. We can discuss the problem, whether it fits one of the fixed-scope services, and what the next step would look like.
